Barcelona has interest in buying Matteo Darmian from Manchester United.

Darmian is considered a lower cost alternative to other left-back targets such as Junior Firpo, Philipp Max and David Alaba.

Ernesto Valverde is pushing for Barcelona to sign Junior.

Real Madrid have become increasingly confident of their chances to sign Paul Pogba from Real Madrid.

Zinedine Zidane has been pushing for Real Madrid to sign Pogba, but Florentino Perez reportedly still needs convincing.

Perez told Zidane during a meeting in Montreal last week that it would be "difficult" to sign Pogba this summer given that United do not want to sell. Zidane then asked Perez and director general Jose Angel Sanchez to make another effort and now Madrid sources have said that, although United are holding out for €180 million, there is a feeling they can find an agreement.

Real Madrid are also currently trying to sell Gareth Bale.

Atletico Madrid have asked La Liga to block the sale of Antoine Griezmann to Barcelona due to a dispute over the transfer fee.

Barcelona announced the signing of Griezmann this month for €120 million ($133.75 million) but Atletico complained that not enough was paid.

The buy-out clause had dropped from €200 million to €120 million on July 1, but Atletico claim that Griezmann's May 14 announcement that he was leaving the club is proof a deal was struck between the player and Barcelona much earlier.

Barcelona and Lionel Messi will open talks on an extension.

Messi is in the final two years of his deal and Barcelona would like to get him to commit beyond in 2021.

Josep Maria Bartomeu will lead the negotiations with Messi's father, Jorge, who also acts as his agent. 

Zinedine Zidane revealed Real Madrid are working on selling Gareth Bale this summer.

Bale was left out of Real Madrid's squad for Saturday's preseason match.

"Bale did not play because he is very close to leaving," Zidane said. "We hope he leaves soon. It would be best for everyone. We are working on his transfer to a new team.

"I have nothing personal against him, but there comes a time where things are done because they must be done, I have to make decisions. We have to change.

"The exit is the coach's decision, and also of the player, who knows the situation.

"The situation will change, I do not know if in 24 or 48 hours, but it will, and it's a good thing for everyone."

Tottenham Hotspur could buy back Bale from Real Madrid. The reported deal would see Madrid receiving a €50m to €60m transfer fee with Spurs paying around half of his €17m a year salary, and Madrid handing the winger €25m up front to cover the remaining three years of his contract.

The Guardian reports Bale could join China's Super League.

Real Madrid have refused to rule out selling Isco and Marco Asensio if the money could be used to fund the signing of Paul Pogba.

Sources at the club have told ESPN FC that they would be open to selling Isco if a "big offer" is received and that Borussia Dortmund had made an initial enquiry, but the 27-year-old himself decided the Bundesliga club were not "important enough."

Isco would prefer to remain with Real Madrid.

Real Madrid would like to sell at least one big name this summer though that will be difficult at the prices they seek.

Barcelona have made David Alaba their No. 1 target as they look for an upgrade for Jordi Alba.

Philipp Max and Junior Firpo have been considered as alternative targets.

Alaba, who has two seasons remaining on his deal with Bayern, offered himself to Barca through his agents several weeks back.

"The player is interested in coming," a source at Barcelona told ESPN FC. "It's a complicated operation, but not an impossible one."

Daniele De Rossi is set to make a move to Boca Juniors.

The 36-year-old is a free agent following his career at Roma. 

He is expected to wear the $16 jersey at Boca. 

Matthijs de Ligt has signed with Juventus from Ajax for a transfer fee of €75 million ($84 million).

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain battled to sign De Ligt throughout the summer.

This summer Juventus have signed De Ligt, Luca Pellegrini from Roma for £20 million, Cristian Romero from Genoa for £23.3 million, and Merih Demiral from Sassuolo for £16.1 million, while Adrien Rabiot, Gianluigi Buffon and Aaron Ramsey have arrived as free agents.
